Christian Raubach

WSET III, FWS, WSG Champagne Master

Christian has been bitten by the wine bug early on as his family had close contacts with an established wine merchant and one of his college friends became Switzerland’s first Master of Wine. He has traveled to many wine regions and in 2006 completed a stage at Chateau Haut-Bailly during a sabbatical. In his more than 15 years living in Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore, he has fostered many wine friendships with collectors from all over the world. He is a member of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, Confrerie de Chevalier de Tastevin and honorary member of the Commanderie du Bontemps. A prolific tasting note writer, Christian has logged more than 10’000 tasting notes on CellarTracker and as a French Wine Scholar (FWS) with “Highest Honors”, he loves to write about Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, and Northern Rhone.

Markus Kumschick

WSET III

Markus also had his wine moment at the tender age of 16 with a Chateau d’Yquem 1976, his own vintage. In the following years, his fascination for wine became more and more pronounced and for about 25 years he has been intensively involved with the subject of wine, organizing educational tastings, reading all the specialist literature he can get his hands on and taking part in all the tastings that his busy calendar allows. After completing WSET III in 2007, he has been regularly traveling to Piedmont, Burgundy, Champagne, Moselle and Tuscany and also paid visits to California, Virginia, Finger Lakes, Portugal, Bordeaux, Alsace, southern and central Italy and Styria. Markus is really our Italy specialist with deep knowledge on Piedmont and Tuscany, but he also collects Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne and Riesling. Markus is a passionate chef and loves to match wines and food.
